pp. 143-145
Abstract
Of the atoms it may be said finally that their permanent and only "accompaniments' are size, shape, and weight: but the "accompaniments' of compound bodies differ with all the variety of things which they constitute: each one of them is the sum of those "accompaniments", those properties and qualities, the removal of any one of which would alter the physical constitution of the thing.
