What is the technological spirit?

Jun Tosaka

pp. 81-88

Abstract

If I were asked to explain what the scientific spirit is in a single phrase, my answer would be that it is the technological spirit. I would say that it is the unmovable spirit that, by being mediated towards the technology of material production within society, adjusts its categories without neglecting their deduction and verification, makes culture cohere, and characterizes modern culture.
