An open letter on the dematerialization of the geographic object

David Russell

pp. 329-344

Abstract

The putative impertinence of Schaefer's critique can no longer be maintained. Exceptionalism was an accurate characterization of a geographical methodology which has since then encroached geographical theory. By Schaefer II I wish to emphasize the trenchant pertinacity of the exceptionalist critique with respect to the entire spectrum of contemporary social science.
