The system in the element of Vorstellung

Malcolm Clark

pp. 146-193

Abstract

If much of this study has been concerned with the difficulty of posing a philosophical question, in that the question is itself made possible only by that depth of thought which — in a sense — constitutes its answer, then it can hardly be expected that the question which the study as a whole is trying to pose can have been clearly formulated from the beginning. The whole first part was perhaps not so much an instrument for solution as a means of invention.
